An Afternoon of Poetry & Music

Meet Hayward's new Youth Poet Laureate, Santino Torres, and our Poet Laureate, Mo Kim-Tong. They will be reading some of their poems and will be joined by some other wonderful local poets; followed by Open Mic time for other up and coming poets. (Poems must be appropriate for all ages).

Falling Into the Season: A Poetry Workshop by Poet Laureate Mo Kim-Tong

Sat, Aug 22, 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Hayward’s Poet Laureate, Mo Kim-Tong, will host a workshop over four Saturdays. Play with techniques that expand your poetic repertoire, and share your work in a welcoming space!

Wearable Art: Fused Glass Jewelry

Wed, Aug 26, 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Create wearable works of art! Students in this FREE hands-on workshop will learn basic glass fusing techniques and use colorful pre-cut glass, crushed glass, paints, and more to create several sets of jewelry. Class 1 of 2; registration is required.
