Ceremonial Pride Flag raising—Noon, Thursday, June 11, Hayward City Hall Plaza 

In recognition of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) Pride Month, the City of Hayward will host a ceremonial raising of the Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride flag at 12 p.m. this Thursday, June 11, at Hayward City Hall Plaza.

The summer event season gets off to a fast start this month with soccer watch gatherings, the return of third Thursday downtown summer street parties and Hayward’s annual Juneteenth Celebration, which takes place Saturday, June 20, at a new location. 

Fourth of July reminder: All fireworks are illegal in Hayward

With the Fourth of July holiday approaching, the City of Hayward encourages residents to be good neighbors, celebrate safely and follow the City’s fireworks ban: All forms of fireworks are illegal in Hayward. People caught using fireworks are subject to criminal citation and owners of property where illegal fireworks activity takes place are subject to fines. 

Enforcement of parking time limits downtown starts July 1 

The City of Hayward will begin enforcing parking time limits on streets and in City parking lots and garages in the downtown area starting July 1. 

Provide input on water management, water-shortage contingency planning in Hayward  

The City of Hayward is updating its water management and water-shortage contingency plans and is inviting public review and comment before the plans are presented to the City Council for adoption next Tuesday, June 16.
