Join us for a pop-up SeniorFAIR! This special event is dedicated to celebrating our beloved older adults in the community. Enjoy a fun-filled morning of activities, entertainment, and information sessions designed to help seniors live their best lives.


The focus this year will be on disaster preparedness, providing information and resources. Whether you’re looking to connect with others, learn about local resources, or simply have a good time, SeniorFAIR is the place to be.


Event Highlights Include:

  • Emergency Preparedness information from the Hayward Fire Department
  • Local resources and services for seniors
  • Free lunch for all attendees
  • Door prizes and giveaways

Volunteers Needed!


Do you like Adobe Creative Cloud, arts & crafts, laser cutting, 3D printing, Cricut crafts, sublimation, or sewing? Come help out in the Makerspace & Digital Media Center! Volunteers must be 18+ and commit to about two hours a week for six months. You'll coach and assist patrons and lead tours.

Mystery Book Club: Mimi Lee Gets a Clue

CunamacuΓ©: Afro-Peruvian Music

Saturday, July 19, 12:00 p.m., Downtown Library


This interactive show for all ages is a journey through Afro-Peruvian rhythms. The audience will actively participate and live the experience of entering a part of Afro-Peruvian culture. They will hear instruments and their history, and will have a chance to play them. Audiences will see dances such as the Zamacueca, Zapateo, and Festejo, and learn dance movements, concepts, and how to use props such as the handkerchiefs used for Zamacueca.

Unlock energy, strength, and joy in this wellness-focused class led by certified instructor Iva Chu. 


Though the class is appropriate for all levels of yoga experience, many of the poses require balance and the ability to move from standing to floor-based stretches without assistance.

Mobile Health Clinic

Friday, July 25, 10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Downtown Library


The mobile health clinic offers free, friendly medical services for people without housing. First come, first served. No appointment required; just come to the van parked in front of the library on Mission Blvd. between the City Hall Garage and C Street.


Services are provided by Alameda Health System in partnership with Alameda County Health Care for the Homeless.

English Conversation Circles are designed for adults who are looking for a supportive and fun environment to practice their English-speaking skills. The goal is to strengthen conversational skills, while building confidence and community with other adults whose native language is not English.

Do you want to learn how to use computer programs like Google Docs, Google Sheets, or Google Slides? Participate in a Google Suite Workshop! You'll learn how to use one of the programs mentioned above to accomplish specific tasks. 


These workshops are drop-in but registration is recommended, since space is limited.
