Garden with a rock -lined channel to funnel water to plants

This winter the Bay Area is predicted to have plenty of rain. Don’t let that water go to waste! Planting a rain garden can allow stormwater runoff to be absorbed into the soil. December 13th at 6:00pm, Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA) holds the webinar Garden Talks: Rain Garden hosted by the City of Menlo Park. This webinar, instructed by Chris Corvetti, will give you tips to start your rain garden no matter what size space you have available. Click here to register.

The City of Hayward is holding a trash disposal day on December 9 at the City’s Transfer Station at 3455 Enterprise Ave. From 7:00am-12:00pm Hayward residents may drop off up to 5 cubic yards (about one pickup truck load) of household waste including furniture, mattresses and appliances.
