The 2025 edition of the Hayward Community Survey found higher levels of satisfaction with quality of life and overall delivery of municipal services among City residents.

Meanwhile, residents who reported contacting the City about a concern in the past year reported higher levels of satisfaction with overall customer service and with getting their issue or concern addressed.

The Hayward Community Survey is a scientific measure of public opinion that has been carried out approximately every two years since 2008, though the last survey was conducted in 2021.

According to the survey conducted March 29 and April 9, 80 percent of residents are satisfied with the quality of life in Hayward, up from 68 percent in 2021. 69 percent are satisfied with City services, up from 56 percent in 2021.

The customer service rating from those who had contacted the City about a concern over the past year was 71 percent, up from 66 percent in 2021. And 68 percent of these residents reported getting their problem solved, up from 57 percent in 2021.

For more information on the survey—including results, methodology and the presentation delivered to the City Council on April 22—visit the Resident Satisfaction Survey page here on the City of Hayward website.
