Get an early start on the Fourth of July holiday from Downtown to South Hayward

The City of Hayward invites you to get an early start on the Fourth of July holiday with Hayward LIVE art and music showcases on downtown B Street, the eighth annual All America Festival at Mt. Eden Park and Skate Fest at Weekes Park starting Friday through Saturday.

Presented by the Hayward Economic Development Division, Hayward Live will bring musicians, artists and vendors to B Street between Mission and Foothill boulevards from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, starting June 30 and through the month of August.  To see the lineup for each weekend, visit www.haywardlive.org.

The annual All America Festival returns to Mt. Eden Park, 2451 W. Tennyson Road, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 1. Presented by Eden Youth & Family Center and other community organizations and civic leaders, there will be a multitude of family-friendly and diverse food offerings, games, dancing and musical performances and other activities, including the singing of Happy Birthday to the United States of America.

Also, this Saturday, Skate Fest is a free roller-skating community event hosted by Avanta Boot Labs, a Hayward custom skate manufacturer, and the City of Hayward People’s Budget. It takes place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Weekes Park Multipurpose Court, 27182 Patrick Ave. There will be free skate rentals, a free raffle give-away of 20 Hayward custom skates, the samba percussion and dance group Bloco Do Sol, plus a live DJ.

Please register for Skate Fest at http://bit.ly/3WUs0qO, and be sure to list each person’s shoe size to be automatically included in the skate raffle. Raffle winners will be announced at the event at 3:30 p.m.
