Input sought on update to Hayward Tree Preservation Ordinance 

The City of Hayward is seeking public input as it prepares to update its ordinance governing the preservation of trees on private property and their contributions to environmental protection, neighborhood aesthetics and quality of life.

State backs Hayward plan to buy, operate single-family homes as permanent housing for people experiencing homelessness 

The California Department of Housing and Community Development announced last week the award of $9.6 million for the purchase and refurbishing of single-family homes in Hayward to be operated as permanent housing for people experiencing homelessness.
