Special in-person workshop this evening on creation of Hayward Council voting districts 

Hayward residents are invited to a special in-person-only workshop this evening to learn more about and participate in the creation of new legislative districts from which City Council members will be elected starting in 2026.

Annual Hayward roadway Pavement Improvement Project gets underway 

The City of Hayward annual Pavement Improvement Project began Monday and will bring more than $13 million in street and curb repairs, resurfacing, striping, and bike lane, crosswalk and other upgrades to more than 41 lane miles of roadway.

Hayward sales-tax extension measure headed to November ballot

The Hayward City Council voted last month to call an election on Nov. 5 on a proposed ballot measure to extend without increasing the City of Hayward half-cent sales tax for an additional 20 years beyond its current 2034 end date. 

Applications for new below-market-rate apartments being accepted until July 15 

Pimentel Place, a new affordable housing complex at 22648 Second Street in Hayward, is accepting applications from low-income families until next Monday, July 15.

The City of Hayward application period for appointment to City commissions in 2024 closes Aug. 2—with service on these City Council-appointed bodies now open to all City residents.
