HPL Recommends: January is National Soup Month!
National Soup Month, observed during January, celebrates the appreciation and enjoyment of all things soup. The idea is to embrace the warmth and comfort that a bowl of soup provides, especially during the colder winter months. Some folks explore different soup recipes, share recipes and soups with family and friends, or organize soup tastings or cooking competitions. You and your kid can celebrate with a good book! |

HPL Recommends: Life Skills for Teens
Teens have to learn so many life skills just to be fully-functioning teenaged humans, never mind becoming independent adults. Sure, there are always influencers to follow and YouTube videos to watch... but sometimes you don't know where to start, because you don't know what you don't know. Checking out some of these books would be a great start! |

Library Hours Have Been Reduced to Help Close the City of Hayward Budget Deficit
We're reducing operating hours and eliminating Hoopla and Kanopy as part of citywide cost cutting to close a multi-million-dollar City of Hayward budget deficit.
We've received requests from the public asking how they can share their feedback with local government officials about the City's current budget challenges and protecting Library services. For more information on how to send a comment to the City Council or participate in a City Council meeting, please visit the City's webpage at bit.ly/coh-council. |
