New Mayor, Councilmembers to be sworn in tonight at 6 p.m. meeting

Hayward will swear-in Councilmember Mark Salinas as Mayor and Planning Commissioners Julie Roche and George Syrop as new Councilmembers following certification of the results of the Nov. 8 municipal election at a special meeting of the City Council starting tonight at 6 p.m.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration event returns Jan. 16, 2023

Hayward will pay tribute to the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a program of music and song, poetry, community-award recognitions, a keynote address by Chief of Police Toney Chaplin and other activities starting at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at Chabot College Performing Arts Complex.
