The event spotlighted Hayward Rides, a new $6.2 million equity-focused bike access program developed with extensive community input. Together, these efforts support healthier lifestyles, climate action, and a more connected Hayward—one ride at a time.

Congratulations to StopWaste’s FY 2024- 2025 Grantees!

StopWaste continues to champion sustainability efforts in Alameda County, including Hayward, by funding innovative projects that reduce waste and promote environmental responsibility. For the fiscal year 2024-2025, ten organizations serving Hayward have received grants for their impactful initiatives, each contributing to waste reduction and environmental stewardship in unique ways.

Hayward Celebrates Earth Day

On April 22, Mayor Mark Salinas and the City Council kicked off Hayward’s annual celebration of Earth Day by recognizing twenty local students and their teachers as the winners of the 2025 Earth Day Poster & Writing Contest. Later in the week, the City hosted its annual Litter Clean-Up Day and Earth Day Fair on Saturday, April 26.

Seed Library Program Series: Planting for Seed Saving
