Dear Russell City community members and interested parties,  

We are writing to let you know that previously announced dates of a City Council work session and potential legislative action on Russell City Reparative Justice Project proposals are being rescheduled to after the new year.   

The extended timeframe is intended to allow for a more in-depth analysis of the reparative justice proposals and to provide additional preparation time for developing options and recommendations for the incoming Hayward City Council's consideration. 

The City of Hayward understands that this delay may cause concerns. Your input, efforts, and engagement in the Russell City Reparative Justice Project have been invaluable. We want to assure you that while this change is causing a slight delay, the City intends to reach final decisions in a timely manner. 

In the coming months, the dates of the Russell City Reparative Justice Project work session and potential legislative action will be announced once confirmed.
