Ceremonial flag raising, proclamation to affirm support of LGBTQ+ community members 

In recognition of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) Pride Month, the City of Hayward will host a ceremonial raising of the Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride flag at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, at Hayward City Hall Plaza.

Juneteenth in Hayward—a festival, flag raisings and HPL exhibits and programs 

Juneteenth, the oldest nationally recognized commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States, will be celebrated in Hayward on June 21, with live music, spoken word, dance and drama performances, exhibitions, vendors, refreshments and activities for children.

Opera coming to Heritage Plaza—June 28 and 29 

Hayward Public Library is partnering with the San Francisco Opera to bring two live performances of Bohème out of the Box, an abridged one-hour version of the famous opera La Bohème, to Heritage Plaza across from the Downtown Library at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29.
